Artist of the Month
Alan King (1946-2013)
Alan King studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1964 to 1968. After a career in teaching he decided to start painting full time in 1999. His love of the Italian Renaissance and Commedia dell'Arte was a continual inspiration for his paintings. He said of his painting - I am interested in the process of painting and am constantly investigating and reading about the materials and craft of painting.
